For the first time in a while, Ruger has released a new left handed rifle model. The Hawkeye Hunter, which was released late last year, now has 2 models for the left handed shooters. One in 300 Win Mag, and one in 6.5 Creedmoor.

The Ruger rifles carries a lot of the classic Ruger features, a walnut stock, non-rotating Mauser type extractor, three position safety, hinged floor plate, and classic look. But to keep up with wants and needs of the ever evolving shooting community, the barrel has 5R rifling, they have added a ⅝”-24 threaded barrel, and a 20 MOA Picatinny rail.

I’m glad to write about a new Ruger left handed rifle. It’s been a while since they made a left handed rifles that checked all the boxes, namely a threaded barrel.

  1. Largest turn off to me is short barrels or pencil barrels. I have purchased several and never failed to be disappointed.
