The Finnish company produces a left handed rifle that is sure to interest the long range shooter with a lot going for it out of the box. The Tikka T3x TAC A1 is their answer to the the chassis based rifles, like the Ruger Precision Rifle, but they offer it in a left handed version. All with the Tikka reputation for accuracy and durability.
Customization
The TAC A1 features the Tikka T3x action installed on their new modular chassis system. The system comes from the factory with a pistol grip and a very nice looking adjustable folding stock. The stock can is customizable for the shooter with an adjustable cheek piece, recoil pad height, and LOP spacers. But what really makes it shine, is that all the these items are all based on AR platform, so you can customize it until your heart’s content.
The fore-end is also very customizable as it inetchnnageble with other hand guards that utilize the AR platform barrel nut (barrel nut is for the interface, not for the actual receiver). As installed, it is a 13.5″ fore end with the M-LOK interface for adding your accessories.
It also features their adjustable two stage trigger, and feeding the rifle is easy with the 5 or 10 round detachable box magazine. For your optics, a 0MOA Picatinny rail is installed.
Calibers and Barrels
Thankfully, Tikka also did the left handed community well with their included calibers, all available in 20″ or 24″ length barrels.
- .223 Remington with a 1-8″ or 1-12″ twist
- 6.5 Creedmoor with a 1-8″ twist
- .308 Winchester with a 1-11″ twist
The barrels are cold hammer forged and have a 5/8×24 muzzle thread and an included muzzle brake. Great for those who have suppressors, as you won’t need to have the barrel threaded after the purchase.
Looks like a very well built rifle with all the features needed, or to get started with long range shooting, and most of the popular calibers the left handed shooters need.
